Licensing music for use on your products

If you are unsure of the licence you need, you can call the MCPS direct on 020 7580 5544 or call us on 0114 255 2460.

By clicking here, you will be taken to the section of the MCPS website which covers music licensing on all physical formats/products, including CDs, DVDs, computer games, novelty toys etc. How you use commercial music on your product will determine the clearance you need.

Simpler licensing for record companies/individuals who want to licence music for CDs/LPs for sale to the public, reporting on all units manufactured.

AP2A
Record companies/individuals who want to licence music on CDs/LPs for sale to the public, reporting on all units manufactured and with improved terms compared to AP2.

If you are an amateur music user and you are not distributing your product via a third party then you may be eligible for a Limited Manufacture Licence.
